Saint Paul’s Youth and Outreach Committees are considering the feasibility of a mission trip to Our Little Roses in Honduras with St. George’s Church in Nashville. Our Little Roses is a home for girls in the second poorest country in this hemisphere. The website www.ourlittleroses.org provides helpful information about Our Little Roses and Honduras. The main focus of our mission trip is our time spent with the girls in activities, but those interested will have other work opportunities to improve the home. The final cost cannot be provided until the budget is approved in January. We are also considering several fundraisers to help defray the cost to each person. The first will be a Mardi Gras themed fundraiser held on Saturday, February 21, 2009. It will be held in the River Room from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Tickets will be sold for $20.00 per person beginning in January and may be purchased by any Outreach member and in the parish office. The menu will consist of Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Salad, Bread, and a variety of Desserts.

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism will be Sunday, January 11 and Sunday, February 15 at the 11:00 services. Interested families are asked to contact the church office by January 6 if they wish to have their child baptized on January 11. If you would like to be included in the February 15 baptism, please contact the church office by February 9. The Nursery Guild will host the Baptism Rehearsals on Saturday, January 10 and February 14 at 9:00am. We will gather in Tyler Hall for light refreshments before the rehearsal begins. We look forward to meeting our newest Little Lambs and assisting the families during this special time. Hostesses will also be available on Sunday to assist and take photos.
