SUMMARY:Praying Together: Daily Prayer Tutorial
DESCRIPTION:Location: Join Zoom\nOR from Zoom App\, Meeting ID: 595 177 454\nOR phone-in: (646) 876-9923\nPASSWORD: Email Maddy Elledge to request. \nOur church’s deepest and strongest roots are found in daily common prayer. The Book of Common Prayer contains a variety of daily prayer services for both private or public use\, but few Episcopalians today are comfortable with how to pray these prayers solo or in community (in whatever form it presently takes). Praying Together offers tutorials about prayer and our prayer tradition so that everyone may learn how to pray the daily prayers of our church\, giving their attention and intention to God’s presence in the community of common prayer. \nContact Fr. Jenkins if you would like to request instruction about a particular daily prayer service or at a particular time.

SUMMARY:Noonday Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, July 22\, 12:30 p.m.\n\nLocation: Join Zoom\nOR from Zoom App\, Meeting ID: 595 177 454\nOR phone-in: (646) 876-9923\n\nPASSWORD: Email Maddy Elledge to request.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“O God\, make speed to save us\, O Lord make haste to help us!” \nWednesday at 12:30 p.m. we will gather online to pray the service of Noonday Prayer. The service will be led by members of the parish  and the bulletin will be presented through Zoom so all may participate. \nNoonday Prayer is a short and simple service which allows prayer to enter into the midst of our daily work or other activities\, while joining our prayers in the ongoing prayer of the Church around the world. It may also be observed in private and is found online here  and on p.103-107 in The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) or in the simplified version daily devotions on page 138. \n\nLearn more about praying this service and all the services of the Daily Office in our series of online lessons called PrayingTogether.

SUMMARY:Praying Together: Centering Prayer Tutorial and "Sit"
DESCRIPTION:Location: Join Zoom\nOR from Zoom App\, Meeting ID: 595 177 454\nOR phone-in: (646) 876-9923\n\nPASSWORD: Email Maddy Elledge to request.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Contemplative practices facilitate and deepen our relationship with God.” This tutorial will offer a “beginner’s” approach to the practice of Centering Prayer. “The more we practice and allow the transformation process to happen\, the more we are able to experience the Indwelling Presence in everything we do. Contemplative practices give us the eyes to see and the ears to hear God calling us to the banquet that is our lives\, as they are.”\n\nImmediately following the tutorial and a short Centering Prayer “sit”\, stay for the liturgy of Compline on the same zoom meeting at 8 p.m.\n\nInquiries\, questions to be addressed in the tutorial? Please send them in advance to Fr. John Jenkins.
